The spirit of Jezebel |
BACK |
How can we recognize this clever
spirit trying to run and ruin our lives?
Since we
are acustomed to only identifying dangers with our 5
natural senses and don't have our spiritual senses
trained, we miss seeing what this spirit is doing to
our spiritual and eternal life. It has one goal and
that is to rob us of our eternal rewards and keep us
in a state of physical, emotional, intelectual and
spiritual poverty.
This
evil spirit is one of the chief weapons in which the
Demonic strong man trusts and thereby needs to be
recognized and disposed of so that we can walk in
the liberty, power and prosperity that Jesus desires
for us.
Why do we call it the spirit of
Manipulation and Control?
It's just that this evil
spirit uses methods of manipulatng our emotions and
because he has our emotions manipulated he can now
manipulate our reasoning and thereby control our
words, actions and destiny. He does not possess
authority from God and so has to manipulate people
to get them to do what he wants them to do. These
people are the ones that divide churches, using
manipulative tactics to pull people from their
pastor and to start their own church, since they
cannot father their own churches as true apostles
do. Someone
that has authority has no need to manipulate since
as the Roman centurion said. "He just has to say the
word and it will be done."
Matthew 8:8 The
centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not
worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:
but speak the word only, and my servant shall be
healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having
soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go,
and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he
cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth
it.
How does this evil spirit manipulate?
He is very subtle in using
lies, deceptive words, accusations, distorting God's
or the authorities words, falsely accusing God of
being self centered, gossip, criticism, judgments,
half truths, distorted truths, fear, shame,
insecurity, condemnation, depression, apathy. This
spirit, as well, uses the weaknesses in our flesh
such as; pride, arrogance, anger, vanity, ambition
and selfishness or whatever it takes until we
withdraw from where God has planted us to follow him.
Genisis 3:1 Now the serpent was more
subtle than any beast of the field which the
LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman,
Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every
tree of the garden?
How do
we get rid of this evil spirit?
We need to understand that his authority does
not come from God but from man who gave it to him in
the garden of Eden. Therefore his words ARE NOT
PROPHETIC and do not represent the ULTIMATE WORD of
God nor can they. Just as mankind gave Satan and his
demons the authority, mankind through repentance in
Jesus Christ can remove that authority from him in
their lives.
The
only answer for those under attack from this
manipulative spirit known in the Bible as the
Jezebel spirit is through perseverance. We must not
let go of the reins of our emotions, but submit or
align all our emotions and thoughts to what the
Bible says about who we are and how we should act
and react and remain on course no matter how long it
takes to overcome this arrogant and deceptive
spirit, because in the end he will FLEE.
James
4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist
the devil, and he will flee from you.
We
need to understand we are in a War.
The Bible talks about this spiritual war of
manipulative authority fighting against God's
anointed authority in 1 Kings 16 to 2 Kings 9:37.
This war continues today between Jezebel and Elijah.
Like all wars, there are casualties. Leaders
sometimes get discouraged and may even fall.
Soldiers sometimes withdraw and join up with the
evil spirits agenda. Jezebel wants to keep the
church within its present boundaries. She claims
to decide the extent of the church locally. We must
not tolerate this. In today's religious society we
have what is called the Apostolic networking, which
just like the old discipleship doctrine which can become
perverted into where one is exercising a supposed
authority outside of any Biblical or moral
responsibility that they have. This is a sign of the
evil spirit of manipulation trying to
rule.
Trampling Jezebel
First, we must rid
ourselves of Jezebel’s ways. We can not cast out
lust when we harbor lust in our lives. We can not
bring down a spirit of control if we use
manipulation and hype to control our congregations.
We must examine our own ways, and repent of the
Jezebel spirit that we enjoy using where it benefits
us personally.
Second, it takes
a Jehu. Although Elijah was Jezebel’s enemy, it
took JEHU to trample Jezebel.
Third, Jehu took no
prisoners and showed no mercy to Jezebel. He had
singleness of purpose and was driven. As he
approached Jezreel those who saw his chariot noted
he "drives furiously" (2 Ki 9:20) When others
offered peace and compromise, Jehu responded "How
can there be peace as long as the harlotries
and witchcrafts of Jezebel are many?" (2 Ki
9:22)
Jehu would not rest until Jezebel was dead. Her
pleasures could not attract him. Her threats did not
deter him. He would not tolerate Jezebel.
Jesus says we too can not TOLERATE Jezebel.
(Revelation 2:20) We must learn the prophetic power
of the word "No!" We must give no ground!
When Jezebel attempted to captivate Jehu, he did
not even allow himself to be drawn into conversation
with her. Instead, he called on her eunuchs to cast
her down from her balcony. Those with the Jehu
anointing will call to Jezebel’s emasculated slaves,
and they too will cast her down!
What happens when a leader is
being oppressed by this spirit. He loses direction
and vision and becomes weakened as he goes through
the battle that rages inside him to manipulate his
emotions and control his mind and thereby his
decisions and actions. It requieres that the people
close to him and around him continue to encourage
him to press on and not lose faith in God's
Ultimate Word backed up by the Holy Spirit.
What fleshly emotions are manipulating and
controling your life?
Is it anger, injustice, lust, helplessness,
envy? We need to take the reins of our emotions so
as not to be led by them but to use them to motivate
us in doing God's will, God's way. Actually that is
why one of the fruits of the Spirit of God is self
control, since self control is to exercise control
over our fleshly emotions and then use or channel
them towards actions that require faith and thereby
bring a reward from God. Hebrews 11:6 Remember it
is only the things that require faith that please
God and bring rewards from God in our lives and
opens the doors of heaven to ask whatsoever and
receive it from God. WOW!
"But
without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he
is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him."
Then like John
states in 1 John 3:22
"And
whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we
keep his commandments, and do those things that
are pleasing in his sight."
The
only things that are pleasing to God are acts of
obedience that require FAITH to do. |
